Frocktober: day 1

Hey everyone–

Recently I heard the phrase ‘Frocktober’ – a chance to dress up for the whole month of October and celebrate being a woman. I heard that and immediately dismissed it. My personal style is… well basically non-existant: jeans or denim skirt and t-shirts most of the time. I hardly ever wear dresses, pretty much only if I’m going out somewhere fancy. The more I thought about Frocktober, the more I thought what a fantastic idea it was.

So I’ve decided to make a pledge this Frocktober: I am going to wear a dress every single day for the rest of October.

This may not seem like a big deal to a lot of you, but considering how little I wear dresses, I’m looking forward to the challenge.

And no, I’m not just doing this for fun… at the end of Frocktober I will donate money to the NZ Gynaecological Cancer Foundation (www.silverribbon.co.nz). I’m not sure right now exactly what form the fundraising for this will take, but over the course of the month I’ll make sure to get a clearer picture.

I’d love your support over the month, and look forward to blogging about how I go!

xx Grace
